Abul-Gheit: Participation of all Iraqis in political process important
Egypt-Iraq, Politics, 4/13/2005

Egypt's Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul-Gheit said yesterday that the participation of all Iraqi parties in the political process would help achieve security and stability in the war-torn country.

During his meeting with visiting US ambassador Richard Jones, a Senior Advisor to the State Secretary and Coordinator for Iraq, Abul -Gheit said all parties have to take part in preparations for the Constitution and forming a new government to serve the best interests of the Iraqi people.

For his part, Jones praised the role played by Egypt to help achieve stability in Iraq.

Within this context, he hinted at the conference of Iraqi neighbors and G-8, sponsored by Egypt in the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh.

Jones also briefed the Egyptian top diplomat on Washington's vision towards peace, stability and reconstruction efforts in Iraq.
