Trade with Russia doubles

A source at the Russian Trade Representation Office in Cairo said yesterday that the volume of trade between Russia and Egypt doubled last year, hitting $834 million.

"Russian exports to Egypt grew by 105 percent, while Egyptian exports to Russia increased by 51 percent," the source told the Russian Information Agency (Novosti).

Listing oil products, grain, wood and paper as the main Russian exports to Egypt, the source added that Egyptians welcome cooperation with Russia, especially in the fields of technology and scientific innovation.
