Al-Ahram: Allegations on 'Egypt's uranium enrichment' groundless
Egypt, Politics, 4/12/2005

The Argentinean government company INVAP for building nuclear reactors asserted that the nuclear reactor that has been built by the company in Egypt from 1984 to 1998 is used only for peaceful applications particularly medical research and generating electricity.

INVAP director in his interview with Al-Ahram daily mission, which is currently on a visit to Argentina, lashed out at the Western campaign accusing Egypt of enriching uranium.

He further said that there is no relation between building a nuclear plant and gaining nuclear weapons, noting that Egypt's status in the region makes several world parties monitor its move.
