Actor George Clooney voices pride to oppose Iraq war
Iraq-USA, Politics, 4/12/2005
American actor George Clooney reiterated on Monday his pride in his political activities that rejected the war on Iraq.
In an interview with the German magazine "Brigit," Clooney accused rightist media means in the United States of seeking to destroy his artistic life.
"I feel increased worry over the mounting hegemony of the neo conservatives in the United States," he told the magazine.
Clooney, 43, said it was very strange that the term of Liberal has changed into an insult now, despite of what it the meaning it had carried in our country over history.
He called Americans to be open to other cultures and religions as to get more understanding of these two issues.
Clooney stepped up his criticism of the US administration in February 2003 saying he feared a war against Iraq was inevitable but would ultimately only lead to more violence.
