Israeli attempts to storm al-Aqsa Mosque deplored
Palestine-Israel, Politics, 4/11/2005
Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) expressed deep concern over the Israeli extremists' intention to storm into al-Aqsa Mosque calling upon the international community, international organizations, and the UN Security Council's members to rapidly work to stop such an act warning against the dangerous results of such an act.
OIC Secretary General, Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu said in a statement "These threats are considered a dangerous development that arouses worry." "Any Israeli attack which may involve al-Aqsa Mosque will lead to unprecedented state of anger in the Islamic world and destructive repercussions regarding the international peace." He held Israel the responsibility of any threats targeting al-Aqsa Mosque.
In Beirut, Lebanese Mufti Mohammad Rashi Qabani vehemently condemned the Israelis schemes to storm and destroy al-Aqsa, stressing that the Arabs will not keep silent towards such attempts.
Meantime, Sheikh Mohammad Hussein Fadlalla called upon all Arabs and Muslims to defend al-Aqsa Mosque and the Palestinian cause. "Targeting one of the most prominent Islamic sanctities is a dangerous matter" Fadlalla said.
"Any third aggression on al-Aqsa will change the current equation so it will become impossible to talk neither on calming nor on political considerations." representative of Hamas movement Osama Hamdan underlined.
