Western warnings for foreign citizens in Yemen
Yemen, Local, 4/11/2005

Yemeni officials played down the American and British warnings over a likely attack by extremists against their citizens or interest in Yemen.

On Friday, the US renewed warning to its citizens from traveling to Yemen because of what was described as the activities of terrorists. On the side line of that, Washington permitted optional departure for non basic working staff from its embassy in Sanaa.

This warning came after the closure of the British embassy in the Yemeni capital until an indefinite time, under the pretext of dangers threatening western interests in this country.
