A spokesman for the French foreign ministry said that the tourist is Jack Reneh. A former death count of al-Azhar explosion included one French female tourist and one American, in addition to a third wounded person the Egyptian attorney general suspects to be the executor of the operation.

Meantime, sources at the Egyptian ministry of the interior announced that the authorities were able to specify the identity of the executor of the operation. He is an Egyptian from al-Qeloubeyah governorate to the north of Cairo. It indicated that he had carried out the operation with the help of three Egyptians described as having Islamist inclination.

These sources explained that the three men who helped in preparing for the operation were arrested, noting that details on the executor of the attack and his partners will be announced in a press conference, whose date was not set.

Judicial sources indicated that the investigation authorities found out the identity of the executor of the explosion from his finger print, found at the site of the explosion, stressing that he has no connection to any well-known Islamic organization.

The Egyptian attorney general Maher Abdul Wahid indicated in a statement to the press that investigations showed that the explosion was "an individual act rather than a group." He did not explain how this conclusion has been reached.
