Continued withdrawal of the Syrian forces from Lebanon

The Syrian forces on Sunday continued their withdrawal from the Lebanese territories. Scores of tanks and military vehicles were pulled out from positions in the Bekaa plain and crossed the borders into inside Syria.

Witnesses said that at least 75 tanks were evacuated from positions to the south of the Bekaa plain, while other forces are preparing in the same area to evacuate their position.

Syria has accelerated the pace of withdrawing its forces and intelligence from Lebanon in recent days, in the framework of the second and last phase of the withdrawal operation which started in March.
