Allawi takes part in the new Iraqi government
Iraq, Politics, 4/11/2005

The Iraqi prime minister Eyad Allawi agreed that his parliamentary bloc will take part in the new government over which negotiations are being made over distributing ministerial bags.

The spokesman for Allawi said that the coalition he leads, as a former prime minister, wants four ministerial posts, including one main ministry as a precondition for his participation.

The supporters of Allawi said earlier that they will not take part in the government, preferring to stay in the seats of opposition in the parliament.

However, the Shiite and the Kurds are still negotiating over sharing new executive posts in Iraq. Shiite sources said that the new government will be more expectedly composed of 31 bags including 17 for the united coalition and 4 for the list of the Kurdistani coalition and 4 for the Sunni, one for the Turkman and another for the Kildo-Assusrians.
