Khatami: Syria's decision to pull out forces from Lebanon is wise

"Syria's decision to pull out its forces from Lebanon is a wise decision, Iran's president said on Friday.

In a statement to Turkish newspaper Sabah, President Mohammad Khatami stressed that the crime of assassination of former Lebanese Premier Rafic Hariri is a catastrophe in the region, stressing that foreign hands were behind this crime to destabilize the region.

He underlined the necessity for the U.S. to make changes in its relation with Iran for improvement of the bilateral relations between Iran and the United States.

" Washington should change its wrong policy and stop pressures it practices, so it becomes normal for Iran to change its policy towards the United States." Khatami said.
