Calls for demonstrations on the second anniversary of the invasion of Baghdad

Iraqi Sunni and Shiite clergies in Baghdad on Friday called on the Iraqis to demonstrate against occupation today, Saturday, on the occasion of the second anniversary of the occupation of Iraq on April 9th, 2003.
Chairman of the Sunni Muslim Scholars Commission, Sheikh Hareth al-Dari, called in Friday's sermon in Um al-Qura mosque in Baghdad on the Iraqis saying "two years in which we found only promises given by the occupiers and their promoters, and nothing but destruction, blood and stealing." He added that during the two past years Iraq continued to witness violent war in all direction: a war on man and a war on culture and civilization and a war on potentials."
For his part Sheikh Abdul Zahra al-Swei'di called in the sermon in al-Sader city of the Shiite majority in Iraq to demonstrate today on the occupation anniversary of al-Fardous square in which the statue of the toppled Iraqi President Saddam Hussein was downed.
Last Friday, the Shiite leader Muqtada al-Sader called on the Iraqis to demonstrate against the occupation forces on the occasion of the second anniversary of the occupation of Iraq.
