Al-Hayat: Kharazi warns against vacuum in Lebanon

Iranian Foreign Minister, Kamal Kharazi has said that Syria is serious regarding her withdrawal from Lebanon and described the withdrawal of the Syrian troops as a major development.

In an interview published by the London-based al-Hayat daily, Kharazi described the Syrian presence in Lebanon as legitimate and governed by agreements between the two states.

Kharazi warned against the vacuum which may be created after the Syrian withdrawal from Lebanon, that may be exploited by some forces to intervene in the Lebanese internal affairs.

Regarding Hizbullah Party, Kharazi said that the party enjoys respect of the whole Lebanese society due to its role in the liberation of the south, pointing out that the party adopts the dialogue method among the various Lebanese party.
