Khatami calls for foreign troops withdrawal from Iraq

Iranian President Mohamed Khatami stressed Thursday the importance of withdrawing all foreign troops from Iraq as well as preserving the country's unity and national concord.
"The Iraqis have proved by the latest elections that they are able to self-determination and electing their own representatives without any foreign intervention," Khatami said in a cable to interim Iraqi president Jalal Talabani.
