Lebanese figures stress unified track and joint destiny with syria

Lebanese national forces and parties stressed Thursday attachment to a unified track and joint destiny with Syria.

In a statement, the parties condemned the foreign intervention in the Lebanese internal affairs as well as the latest blasts in the Lebanese capital. For his part Lebanese Minister of Tourism Wadee al-Kahzen underlined the importance of enhancing bilateral relations with Syria particularly inter-tourism relations.

In a statement, he noted a plan put by the Lebanese ministry to activate internal and external tourism including expositions in Beirut and Damascus.

On the other hand, Foreign Minister Mahmoud Hmmoud said that the UN Security Council took into consideration some changes Lebanon had asked for regarding the project of forming an international investigation committee into the assassination of former Prime Minister Rafic Hariri.

Hammoud, in a statement today, stressed that Lebanon accepts the international organization's authority as long as the later respects Lebanon's sovereignty.

He also pointed out that the Security Council had welcomed Lebanon's attitude and will to cooperate with the international committee as well as facilitate its mission.
