Destruction of Rass Ejdair gate seperating Libya and Tunis

Today, coincides with "the 17th anniversary of the destruction of the artificial borders' gate of Rass Ejdair, set by colonialism to separate the Libyan and Tunisian peoples," JANA reported.

The official Libyan News Agency JANA said "In a historic rally, on 17th April 1988, amidst chants of tens of thousands of people from both countries, the Leader of the Revolution drove a bulldozer and destroyed the artificial border gate, in an embodiment of the aspirations and hopes of the one people in Great Jamahiriya and Tunisia."

JANA added "We announce, here the removal of the artificial borders between Tunisia and Libya and the masses in Tunisia and Libya have to remove the falsehood created by colonialism one- hundred years ago" said the Leader of the Revolution, Muammar al-Qathafi, in his speech in that rally .
