Syria, Lebanon launch a border bridge

Syria and Lebanon on Wednesday launched a bridge project along the Syrian-Lebanese border.
"The project is part of a series of joint projects that aim at rehabilitating border centers as a first step, it will contribute to facilitating transit along Adabousya-Aboudia border line between Syria and Lebanon," Secretary General of the Higher Syrian-Lebanese Council Nasri Khouri told SANA.
"Adabousia- Aboudia line became a very important route for trucks transit from Lebanon to Syria or from Lebanon to Iraq through Syria," Khouri added.
General Establishment of Roads and Bridges is executing the project with an estimated cost of 32 millions S.P. and a duration of 210 days.
The bridge is 54 meters long and 20 meters wide that includes two lanes. It will facilitate the transit of cars and trucks across Syria and Lebanon.
Syrian Minister of Transport Makram Obeid and Lebanese Minister of Transport and Works launched the project.
