Syrian MP elected as chairman of peace and security committee

Participants at the 122nd Conference of the International Parliamentary Union (I.P.U), being held in Manila, on Wednesday elected the Syrian Parliamentary delegation Head Nomair Ghanem as Chairman of the Peace and Security Committee for 2 years at the I. P.U.
"Electing Syrian People's Assembly for the committee presidency will effectively contribute to clarifying Syria's just causes to the world parliaments, as well as confirming the parliaments' trust in the big role Syria plays in keeping security and stability, " Ghanem said in a statement.
