Lahoud meets army chief

Lebanon's President Emile Lahoud on Wednesday reviewed with Lebanese Army Commander Lieu. Gen. Michel Suleiman the latest security developments in light of the Syrian troops withdrawal process from Lebanon.
"Talks dealt with measures taken by Lebanese Army leadership in escorting the Syrian forces withdrawal .. in addition to the plan agreed upon by the Syrian-Lebanese military leaderships which decided the Syrian troops to return home," Lebanese National News Agency said.
Meanwhile, Speaker of Lebanese Parliament, Nabih Berri, renewed Lebanon's commitment to national stances and rejection of the foreign intervention in the Lebanese internal affairs.
Berri, following a meeting with the UN Middle East Envoy Terje Roed-Larsen, said they held talks on the outcomes of Larsen meetings in Lebanon.
Larsen also met Lebanese Foreign Minister Mahmoud Hammoud, completing talks on his mission in Lebanon. Following the meetings, Larsen expressed satisfaction over the outcome of his talks with different Lebanese officials.
Larsen, in a statement, described the talks with Berri as constructive and positive, stressing that the Lebanese leadership is dealing with the current situation in a positive manner.
