UN Security Council approves international investigation into Hariri assassination

The UN Security Council is expected to approve today a draft resolution proposed by the USA, France and Britain to form an international investigation committee on the assassination of the former Lebanese prime minister Rafic Hariri.
Diplomatic sources expected the resolution to be adopted unanimously after Washington, and Paris introduced amendment proposed by Lebanon to carry out the investigations within the supremacy of the Lebanese law.
News reports said that despite the amendments, the major states refused to weaken the article that gives investigators unrestricted access to areas and evidences related to the assassination.
