Jordan, Politics, 4/6/2005
The Jordanian government chaired by Faisal al-Fayez on Tuesday submitted its resignation in preparation to form a new government. The Jordanian Official news agency Petra said King Abdullah II accepted the resignation as from Tuesday.
King Abdullah addressed accusations to al-Fayez government, which was formed in October 2003, and introduced amendments to it just one year after that, because of its performance which was not at the expected level, especially during the convening of the Arab summit in Algeria.
The Jordanian king nominated Adnan Badran to form a new Jordanian government in succession of al-Fayez.
News reports in Amman said that the ministerial reshuffle will include basic ministers in the government. al-Fayez will be the chairman of the royal court, while the foreign minister Marwan al-Mu'ashir will be the royal court minister.
Among the comers to the new government is the minister of planning who resigned from al-Fayez government Bassem Awad Allah, who will be appointed a minister of finance.
