Prayers in Geneva for the release of Moroccan POWs in Southern Algeria
Morocco-Switzerland, Politics, 4/5/2005
More than 200 people gathered in a Notre Dame church in Geneva on Saturday to pray for the release of the remaining 408 Moroccan prisoners of war still being held by the Algeria-backed separatist movement "Polisario" in the Tindouf Camps (south-western Algeria).
Members of the "Collectif des associations et ONG des Droits humains au Sahara" attended the service during which the priest asked the faithful to pray together for "the peace of the souls of all those who disappeared in the prisons of the Polisario Front and for the victims of the political terrorism." The members of the group of NGOs are attending the 61st session of the United Nations Commission of Human Rights in Geneva.
