17 persons killed in Yemen including 3 soldiers, 10 of al-Houthi supporters

Some 17 persons were killed in two separate incidents in Sadah city, in the north of Yemen, between the supporters of Hussein Bader Eddine al-Houthi who was killed in September 2004 and tribal and security forces that stand in support of the Yemeni government.

The first clash took place between gunmen and al-Houthi supporters and the Yemeni army and resulted in killing three soldiers and four gunmen.

The second clash took place in the eastern quarters of Sadah city between al-Houthi supporters and al-Majli tribe and resulted in killing 10 persons including six members of al-Houthi supporters.

Violent clashes took place between the two sides along the three past months of 2004 and ended with the killing of al-Houthi in September 2004 together with hundreds from the two sides and the arrest of thousands of al-Houthi supporters.
