Four military men and two gunmen killed in confrontations in Algeria

Algerian press sources disclosed on Saturday that four Algerian military men were killed, besides two gunmen suspected to have links to the Islamic groups, in two separate accidents took place last Wednesday and Thursday.

Algerian dailies said that the gunmen installed an ambush for one of the army procession in Bumahni forest near Teze Ozo (110 Km to the east of the capital) where they exploded mortars bombs when the vehicle was running by and opened fire on it by machine guns.

Members of al-Salafeyah group for al-Dawa wal Qital ( call and fighting) linked to al-Qaida organization led by Osama Bin Laden are very active in the area.

Since the beginning of March this year, some 30 persons including 10 security men members were killed in acts of violence said to be carried out by armed Islamists, according to Algerian official and press sources.
