Welcoming release of Syrian detainees, a call for releasing others
The Human Rights Society in Syria welcomed the decision taken by the Syrian authorities on Wednesday to release 312 Kurdish detainees and called for the release of all political detainees in the country which it said that some of them has been in detention for 20 years.

An explosion in Brumana left 12 Lebanese injured
The opposition Lebanese Druz leader Walid Junblat accused what he called remains of the security department of being behind the explosion in Brumanna village to the east of Beirut on Friday evening which wounded 12 persons. In a statement to al-Jazeera TV he said that these security departments seek to terrify the Lebanese people.

India wants UN Security Council reform with or without veto for all members equally
In the feverish talks about expanding and reforming the UN Security Council, India wants its inclusion to the Council to be on equal basis with other permanent members in order for the institution to be effective. Although the removal of the veto power from all members would be the democratic way to reform the council and remove the ability of any one country to holding the will of the United Nations hostage, India said it has no preference as long as all members in the new council are treated the same.
