Kuwait: A new minister of information appointed
Kuwait, Politics, 4/1/2005
Kuwait on Wednesday appointed a new minister of information, just two months following the resignation of the former Minister of information, Muhammad al-Hassan, after parliamentarians in the Kuwaiti parliament asked for questioning him in an issue permitting holding singing concerts considered immoral in Kuwait.
The Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Jaber al-Ahmad al-Sabah appointed Anas Muhammad Ahmad al-Rasheed in the post of the information minister, according to the Kuwaiti new agency. Thereby, he replaces Muhammad al-Hassan who resigned in January this year after he was accused by violating the Islamic Sharia over permitting holding singing evenings inside Kuwait.
