Egypt's Mufti: State committed to tolerant teachings and values of Islam

Mufti of the Republic Ali Gomaa affirmed Egypt's adherence to the tolerant teachings and values of Islam.
He said the Egyptian Constitution stipulated that the Islamic Shariaa is the main source of legislation.
During a lecture yesterday at the faculty of Islamic Studies of Al-Azhar University, the Mufti said that Al-Azhar is a world institution with a prestigious message not only for Egypt but also for all world countries.
He said the family planning is halal (permissible) in Islam according to fatwas of Muslim clerics who allowed women not to get pregnant to maintain their beauty.
