Morocco resolved to defend IAEA objective 'Atoms for Peace', minister

Morocco is resolved to defend the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) objective "Atoms for Peace," said Moroccan Minister of Energy and Mining, Mohamed Boutaleb.
Speaking at the international ministerial conference held in Paris March 21-22, the minister said that the international community along with the IAEA work to promote safe, secure and peaceful nuclear technologies.
He recalled, according to a Ministry of Energy and Mining communique, that Morocco adhered to all IAEA accords and conventions stressing the importance of developing partnership in research and training.
On the sidelines of the conference, the minister held a series of meetings with his peers on promoting cooperation in developing nuclear applications in various fields noting that Morocco is working to develop these applications in mining and oil exploration.
Organised by IAEA in collaboration with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the conference brought together ministers and experts from 74 states and representatives of 10 international organisations.
