Morocco, US forces jointly train on humanitarian intervention
Morocco-USA, Military, 3/31/2005
Morocco's Royal Armed Forces (FAR) and the US army will organize on April 1-10 a joint training on humanitarian intervention, christened "African Lion 2005," in the southern region of Tan Tan, FAR said Wednesday in a release.
The training, in which will participate medical units of the two countries, aims to improve the performance of the armed forces in planning and conducting operations as part of humanitarian interventions, noted the same source.
The release explained that the joint training will help carry out several projects in Tan Tan, notably the construction of basic social infrastructures.
Members of the 151st medical squadron of the US air force will provide, jointly with FAR health services, medical assistance to inhabitants of the region.
