Symposium on Damascus flower, the Jasmine

Jasmine is one of the plants Damascus is historically famous for besides the Damascene Rose, a symposium on Jasmine plantation in the Syrian capital said on Tuesday.

The symposium said that Damascus Jasmine is characterized by its white color as well its beautiful smell and one can watch it decorating the old Damascene houses in addition to garden's of new houses and balconies.

The symposium which comes in framework of an agriculture campaign to encourage Jasmine plantation in Damascus is launched by MASS economic group in cooperation with more than 18 syndicates and societies.

The seminar which is held at the Culture Palace in Damascus hosted environmental protection advocates and agriculture engineers who spoke about the good qualities of this plant that Damascenes are proud of.
