United Arab Emirates-Iran, Politics, 3/29/2005

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi on Monday stressed his country's desire to boost cooperation and relations with the Arab states. "Iran is determined to continue talks with the UAE to remove any misunderstanding on Greater Tumb, Lesser Tumb and Abu Musa islands as well on mechanism of implementing the understanding memorandum signed in the year 1971 in Abu Mousa island." Asefi said in a statement.

He emphasized the "necessity to face policy of aggression and violence practiced by Israel in the region and to work in favor of achieving stability and security in Iraq."
