Arab newspapers criticize US pressure against Syria, Lebanon

Tunisian weekly al-Wahda newspaper on Friday criticized the American pressure put on Syria and Lebanon and the U.S. continued search for pretexts to justify its intervention in the two states' internal affairs.
"The International Community rejects the US policy and knows well that the U.S., through its endeavors to intervene in Syria and Lebanon's inland affairs, aims at imposing its and Israel's hegemony on the region," the papers said.
For its part, Tunisian al-Sabah newspaper stressed that the US and Israeli partial campaigns against Syria aims at diverting sights from Syria's legitimate right to restore its occupied lands in the occupied Syrian Golan, justifying the Israeli attempts to hinder the peace process in the region and obliterate the Palestinian refugees cause.
Meanwhile, in Abu Dhabi, the UAE newspaper of al-Khaleej condemned the US and international community's silence at the daily Israeli violations of the international law and rejection of the Arab Peace Initiative.
The paper stressed that the Israeli Premier Ariel Sharon works to halt every effort is exerted in favor of the just and comprehensive peace in the region or peace initiatives. " The U.S., due to its current policy, will not reap but further deterioration in its credibility and much of anger over its double standard policy," the paper concluded.
