King Mohammed, President Bouteflika meetings prelude to political thaw, press
Morocco-Algeria, Politics, 3/25/2005
Meetings King Mohammed VI of Morocco and President Abdelaziz Bouteflika of Algeria held on the sidelines of the Arab Summit are a sign of political thaw and a prelude to reactivate the Maghreb Arab Union process, said the main headlines of Moroccan newspapers
"The long-awaited official meetings between King Mohammed VI and President Bouteflika are a sign of warming up of relations," said "Aujourd'hui le Maroc," adding that it "represents a hope for a better future."
"L'Opinion shares the same viewpoint as it said that the two heads of state meetings constitute a prelude to political thaw pointing out that observers hope that Algeria will open its frontiers and waive visas for Moroccans.
On its part, "Le matin du Sahara et du Maghreb" hopes these meetings will be a prelude of reconciliation and a vector to reactivate the process to build the Maghreb Arab Union (mustering Algeria, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco and Tunisia) in a world that do not recognise micro entities.
