Karami continues consultations to form the government
Lebanon, Politics, 3/25/2005

The hopes to reach a Lebanese government supervising the general elections in Lebanon started to diminish in light of the failure of the designated Lebanese prime minister Omar Karami, so far, in reaching a new national unity government despite the announcement made by the Druz parliamentarian Walid Junblat acceptance to join talks with him.

It is, however, not known if Junblat's acceptance of the dialogue and Druz parliamentarian Ghazi al-Areidi's talk on the need of opening a new page to reach a partnership with Lebanon are indicators for the opposition on giving up their demand for the resignation of officials of security departments and the withdrawal of the Syrian forces.

Meantime, the delegate of Karami, Adnan Qassar to the talks underlined the importance of working together to form a government accepted by all sides and that the priority is for disclosing the implications of the Rafic Hariri assassination.
