Bomb dismantled in Beirut
Lebanon, Politics, 3/25/2005

News reports in Beirut said that the Lebanese security forces dismantled on Thursday one explosive implanted in a small box in one of the trade area in al-Doura area, of a Christian majority, in Beirut.

This was few days after dismantling a false explosive in the same area and one week of the explosion in the Kaslik area which resulted in killing three Asian workers.

The dismantling of the explosive came to renew fears over the deteriorated security conditions in Lebanon after repeated incidents of implanted false or real explosives were found in the Christian areas.

This situation raises questions on the objective of targeting these area, as well as repeated clashes between the supporters of the opposition and the Lebanese government at a time when the country is prepared to carry out general elections in May.
