Lebanese officials on national stances, continued resistance
Lebanon, Politics, 3/21/2005
Lebanese resistance weapons will always be against the Israeli occupation and it will never be in another direction, Deputy Secretary General of Hizbullah Sheikh Naim Qassem said Sunday.
In a statement, Qassem stressed that the resistance will not accept any solution that put Lebanon in a circle of permanent danger. "We don't accept foreign diktats particularly when it comes to our weapons," he added.
He underlined that the Lebanese resistance emerges from the Lebanese people as much as from free decision and free will to liberate the occupied land.
Lebanese Minister of Agriculture Elias Skaf stressed Sunday the importance of implementing the Taif Accord which is considered a Lebanese national document.
He stressed that standing side by side with Syria to achieve the just and comprehensive peace in the region will lead to establish a Palestinian state and regain all occupied Syrian and Lebanese lands.
For his part Lebanese Expatriate Minister Talal Arslan called on all active forces in Lebanon to shoulder their responsibilities by preventing any division or chaos in the country.
The Minister warned during a press conference against all intentional provocations in the Lebanese streets, underlining the necessity of rejecting every foreign interference in the Lebanese internal affairs.
On the other hand, Lebanese MP Ayoub Humid underlined that Lebanese people should preserve the national firm principles as much as they should be cohesive in order to foil any conspiracies against Lebanon.
Humid also called on all Lebanese for a national dialogue in order to realize common denominators that preserve the institutions and achieve Lebanese people's hopes.
Ali Hasan Khalil, another MP, called upon all Lebanese parties to face the conspiracy which is targeting Lebanon's Arab relations particularly its brotherly relations with Syria.
Meanwhile MP Nazeih Mansour emphasized that the Lebanese resistance represents the protective arm of Lebanon.
In a statement, Mansour condemned the European decision of banning the broadcast of al-Manar TV satellite station in Europe, saying "this decision aims at halting the voice of just and right as much as it is a bid to cover up Israel's reality and fake allegations. SANA
