Ethiopia willing to increase investments with Egypt

Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi said his country was willing to up cooperation ties with Egypt in all domains.

Cooperation with Egypt would be very useful, due to the Egyptian pioneering role in the Arab world and Africa, he told Al-Ahram.

In an interview with Al-Ahram in Addis Ababa, Zenawi lauded President Hosni Mubarak's recent reform measures.

The Ethiopian official said there were encouraging moves by Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia to capitalize on current trend for joint ventures in tandem with River Nile cooperation protocols.

One of Ethiopia's major points in cooperation with Egypt is securing delivery of Ethiopian agricultural products and livestock to Egypt in return for Egyptian renowned commodities and more Egyptian experts to help development process by Addis Ababa, he said.
