An explosion to the east of Beirut

An explosion shook the eastern part of the Lebanese capital Beirut and Lebanese security sources said that seven persons were at least injured in as a result, according to preliminary findings.

News reports in Beirut said that the explosion took place after 1.30 p.m. after midnight ( Lebanon local time ). It is not known whether the explosion targeted one of the houses of Lebanese officials or politicians or not.

The Lebanese police and witnesses said that the reason of the explosion, which targeted a casino for gambling, was by a booby trapped car.

This explosion came after one month of another strong explosion which shook the capital Beirut and claimed the life of the former Lebanese prime minister Rafic Hariri and many of his escorts and passersby.
