Commander of the American joint forces is in Iraq

Commander of the American joint forces in the American army Gen. Richard Meyers held a n unexpected visit to Iraq. He expressed his appreciations before Iraqi soldiers and new recruited soldiers over the services they give for their country.
This is, however, the first visit held by Meyers to Iraq since the elections of January 30. He attended a celebration where the American army train the Iraqis in several Iraqi cities.
Meantime, three Iraqi soldiers were killed and other five injured and two civilians were also wounded in a booby trapped car explosion near an inspection point for the Iraqi army at the northern entrance for Baqouba city. Iraqi sources said that the wounded were admitted to a nearby American military base for medical treatment.
Several American soldiers were injured after a bomb exploded when an American vehicle was running in al-Sedeyah area to the south of Baghdad. Witnesses said that Iraqi civilians were killed and others injured in the accident. A statement by the American army said that one American soldier was killed on Wednesday in a bomb explosion on the roadside to the south of Baghdad.
