Morocco's reforms confer credibility to its advanced status with the EU, ambassador
Morocco-European Union, Politics, 3/16/2005
The advanced status of Morocco in its relations with the European Union (EU) would not have any credibility if the Kingdom did not engage in a process of political, economic and social reforms, Moroccan ambassador to the EU, Menouar Alem said.
At a hearing, held in Brussels Tuesday, by the European parliament delegation for relations with Maghreban states, Alem said Morocco has embarked on various reforms. He cited the adoption of the family code (Moudawana), the teaching of human rights at school and the holding of public hearings into human rights breaches by the Justice and Reconciliation commission.
