Syria proceeds implementation of Association Agreement with EU

The Syrian cabinet has prepared a suggestion to run the inked accord late last year during the coming period, Abdullah al-Dardari told SANA.

He added the phase of implementing the accord of partnership includes trade liberation and economic and financial dealings, then the full implementation after the accreditation by all European parliaments.

The Council of ministers approved today the formation mechanism of the higher council for partnership and the technical committee in this respect.

Meanwhile, Minister of Finance Mohammed al-Hussein stated today that the training and qualifying banking center scheduled to be established in Syria is financed by the European Union.

"The EU has offered Syria 6 million Euros to build this center," the minister told reporters.

The center aims at up leveling technical and professional personnel working in Syrian banks and improving their abilities.
