Syria reacts to groundless Israeli accusations
Syria-Israel, Politics, 3/15/2005
Syria's representative to the UN dismissed on Monday the Israeli campaign of accusations against Syria, describing it as "baseless and void." "Israel continues its hectic campaign, by distortion and false forms against Syria ... this new campaign unveils Israeli government policies represented by pointing null accusations which serve its policy of state terrorism," Syria's Permanent Envoy to the UN Faisal Miqdad said in a message sent to the UN Secretary General Kofi Annan.
"Pointing unfair accusation fingers at Syria in some events which happened recently gives us an impression that Israel itself acts as if it is part of the plot and execution of those incidents," the message added.
"Syria, unlike Israel, is committed to its pledges according to the international law .. Syria's government is now adopting necessary measures to join the remaining accords of combating terrorism," Miqdad said.
He added that Israel couldn't continue to hide its intensions of anti-peace policy, holding Israel responsible for failure of peace negotiations because it still wants to hold its grip and occupation of the occupied Syrian Golan, Palestine and South Lebanon.
