The Saudi security forces killed yesterday a wanted person and arrested other three in a raid at the house of a suspect in Jeddah, while the US announced the postponement of the national day ( independence) day in Jeddah consulate till today, Monday.
The spokesman for the Saudi ministry of the interior Maj.Gen. Mansour al-Turkey said that the raid intended to arrest one of the wanted, member of the government has labeled as the "misled group." Al-Turkey indicated that "the wanted man was arrested after he was injured together with two of his escorts and a third was killed." Some 13 police members were injured in the attack, while one woman was killed and her husband was injured.
Neighbors said that the killed man is called Saad al-Youbi. Security sources said that the raid took place after the arrival of Ibrahim al-Youbi, one of Saad's relatives, who has been chased by the authorities to Jeddah and heading for his flat.
In reaction to the incident, Washington announced postponing the celebration of the national day in its consulate in Jeddah today. This consulate was a target to an attack launched by gunmen 3 months earlier. Commonly, the American embassies and consulates celebrate the national day in Spring or Autumn instead of July 4 because of the extreme hot weather in Summer in Saudi Arabia.
