Free Zones in Syria attract investors

Expansion of free zones in Syria and the establishment of other new ones are positively contributing to increasing the number of investors to more than of 1570 in 2004, the thing which reflect positively in developing the movement of the foreign and local goods from and to the free areas.

"The international companies for investment in the Syrian free zones are continuously increasing and now the most important one is the license granted to the project of the Chinese village which includes groups of Chinese companies with group of Gulf investors, in addition to a license for industrial companies specialized in programming production," Director General of Free Areas Adnan Suleiman said in a statement published Sunday by the daily 'al-Thawra'.

Suleiman pointed out to the establishment of new free zones in al-Boukamal, Ya'aroubiya, near the Iraqi borders and the industrial city in Homs, central Syria.
