French communists criticize American pressures against Syria and Lebanon

French Communists on Friday criticized the American pressure put on Syria and Lebanon, asserting that the U.S. crisis in Iraq should never be a pretext to intervene in the two states' internal affairs.
In a statement sent to the Lebanese National News Agency, the Communists urged France to be cautious against any initiative that could support Washington's tendencies to control the region. The statement said the international resolution should be imposed on Israel that has occupied the Syrian Golan, Lebanese Shabaa farms and the Palestinian lands for many years. It also underlined the importance of the implementation of the international laws and resolutions to achieve a just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East.
