Zalmai Khalil Zada is America's ambassador in Baghdad
Iraq-USA, Politics, 3/11/2005
The American embassy announced yesterday that the US President George W. Bush is planning to appoint his ambassador to Kabul Zalmai Khalil Zada as his ambassador in Baghdad.
Zada, of Afghani origin, will replace to this post John Negroponty, who was appointed by Bush as the director of the national intelligence council. A high ranking American official said that an official announcement in this regard will be issued today.
Zada became a star during the Afghani war when he carried an active role in mobilizing the north coalition forces in support of the American attack on the country and later of achieving a harmony among the rival Afghani groups for the composition of after-Taliban regime before he was appointed as his country's ambassador to Kabul.
