A bloody attack in Musil

The last 24 hours witnessed explosions in various parts of Iraq the most violent of which and bloodiest was the attack which targeted a Shiite mosque in Musil to the north of Iraq which inflected 47 killing and more than 100 persons as injured, according to a medical source in the city.

Witnesses said that the attack was carried out by a suicide bomber during a funeral for an official in the trend of the Shiite leader Muqtada al-Sader called Hisham al-Araji in the mosque of "the two Sader's martyrs" to the east of Musil.

No side claimed responsibility for the attack which was deplored by the spokesman for the Muslim Scholars Commission, Muhammad Bashar al-Faeidi. In a statement to al-Jazeera he accused sides he described as "greater than Iraq and of special agenda" of being behind the operation. The commission's branch in Musil also condemned the attack and called on the Iraqis for self control towards these acts which aim at implanting sedition among Muslims.
