British writer assessment on Beirut demonstration
Lebanon, Politics, 3/11/2005
British writer and analyst, Robert Fisk described the demonstration staged in Beirut last Tuesday as warning to the United States and an expression of the Lebanese people's rejection of the American plots against Lebanon and the region.
In an article published by the British daily, The Independent, Fisk said that the Lebanese people were unanimous regarding the rejection of American intervention in their internal affairs including George W. Bush's call for the Lebanese people to hold election away from foreign intervention.
The writer called for contemplating the size of Tuesday's demonstration and for reading its denotations and mottos that show how Syria and not the United States is the friend of the Lebanese.
