Iraqi planning minister survived an assassination

The minister of planning in the expired Iraqi government Mahdi al-Hafez survived an assassination attempt against his procession on Wednesday. The operation resulted in killing one of his guards. This came after the American army announced the death of one of its soldiers in a bomb explosion near Baghdad. No details were given.
Two members of the police forces were killed and other 20 were injured in an attack that took place in front of the ministry of agriculture and al-Sadeer hotel which is used by the police men and their foreign trainers in Baghdad. The explosion was carried out by waste truck.
