Over 2.5 tons of drugs seized since January 2005, police

Some 2,517 kg of drugs have been seized in separate operations since the beginning of 2005, said port police in the northern Moroccan town of Tangier. The police and the custom services managed to intercept, in January 2005, a quantity of 888 kg of drugs, while early March saw the seizure of 966 kg of this substance, according to the same source.
About 30 people from different nationalities have been arrested and ten vehicles seized during these operations. The Tangier port police had seized, in 2004, 30.20 tons of marijuana during 207 operations that helped nab 277 traffickers and confiscate about 200 vehicles.
