Shaath asks Israel to put into effect Sharm understandings
Palestine-Israel, Politics, 3/7/2005

Palestinian Authority expressed yesterday worries over threats by Jewish extremists to attack Palestinians.

For his part, Palestinian Deputy Premier and Information Minister Nabil Shaath yesterday called on the international community to urge Israel to implement the understandings of Sharm El-Sheikh summit that was hosted by Egypt early in February.

In statements to the press, the Minister dismissed reports purporting that a date has been set for a visit by Jordanian King Abdullah II to the Palestinian lands, adding that his talks with Jordanian Foreign Minister Hani Al Mulqi yesterday did not cover this topic.

Mulqi, during his visit to Ram Allah Saturday, expressed Jordan's readiness to train more Palestinian security elements on its land, Shaath said. He noted that the Palestinian leadership informed Al-Mulqi that Israel has not yet delivered on most of the promises it made during the Sharm El-Sheikh summit.
